DON'T USE THIS COMPANY! I would like to give them zero stars, but that is not an option. We called ahead of time for a surgical claim for our dog and got approval for the surgery and partial coverage. After the surgery, we submitted the claim and it was denied. We looked into the problem further, and were told the surgery took place outside of his claim year; I.e he started limping in May, went to the vet in June and had surgery in January. His policy began in December and for that reason, he was in a new claim year. What?! What would have happened if he started limping December 14th and his new claim year started December 15th?? Moreover, while attempting to escalate the claim, I was in contact with numerous representatives and I was told SEVERAL times by MULTIPLE different people that they would be following up with me either via phone or email. I had to be the one to follow up each time- their customer service is a complete disgrace. Catch this one too- Upon reaching the top of the command chain, I was told the only thing that could be done is re-filling the claim and having it being sent to a review board. I inquired as to who would be on the review board, and the person on the phone said it was himself! What kind of impartial review was I going to receive with a representative who had already reviewed my claim? We're trying to spread the news about this company and to run in the other direction if given the advice to go here. We were advised by our local humane society and have contacted them regarding this issue in hopes that they reconsider which insurance company they recommend to their customers. The company boasts having some of the best insurance coverage, while they were going to offer us $500 for a surgery that retails around $3500. Absolute insanity and a waste of your money.
