Resort is well kept, rooms are upscale in the Grand Lux Jungle where I stayed. The Beach Club (only available to Grand Lux Residence & Jungle) and Salum Market Place is very nice with many open air restaurants and comfortable beach sitting areas. The main pool is nice, hugh and is connected through the central part of the resort. The Beach is nice, but swimming in the ocean is hard because it's rocky. The resort doesn't have units with ocean views. All building are only three stories due to hurricane restrictions in the Mayan Riviera area. The view is also restricted by the jungle eco-system that is customary in this region. The resort (Grand Lux Residence, Grand Lux Jungle, Grand Mayan, Grand Bliss, and Mayan Palace) is spread out and in staying in some areas of the resort you will be unable to walk to the Beach, Beach Club or Pool. This means you are relying on the timing of a tram or gulf cart to get you to where you want to go on the resort. This also means it's not easy to get back to your room. I personally like to walk the resort and go back to my room to refresh, eat or get a drink. This is not possible when staying in most areas of the resort. The staff is polite and do a good job of keeping you happy. Would I stay here again? Yes, I guess, but my preference in the Vidanta Resorts is Nuevo Vallarta. So given a choice I'd go to Vallarta. That way I could custom fit my vacation to my preferences.
