We booked this hotel for a short trip to London as it is very close to the airport. However, it would have been easier to take a hotel in the city center or something. The accessibility of the hotel without a car is terrible. Run forever. Getting away from there is even more difficult because you can't buy tickets on the public transport bus and you won't be taken along. So run again for at least 20 minutes. There is a shuttle service that only goes to the airport and costs 5 pounds for this trip alone. Given this availability, it is not very customer-friendly.

At the reception we first had to prove that the invoice (booked through a travel agent) had been paid. I don't see that as our job and it has a bland aftertaste. There was no information on when, how or where to have breakfast. We could then read these in the information in the room. The walls are very noisy. Our room was right on the stairs, we heard every guest come and go. There was no view. Walls and a roof could be seen.

The room was not 4 stars - worthy. Carpet was dirty, as was the bathroom (especially the shower). Limescale stains, rust and dirt. The water kept changing temperature while showering.

Breakfast was okay, typically English, but I found the selection a bit small. But that's just a matter of taste.

On the whole it was not a disaster, but for the price and 4 stars it was disappointing. Without a car, I definitely recommend another hotel, important here, with a train connection (due to the strange ticket system of public transport in London - there you can buy a day ticket for 13 pounds, with which you can also use the buses).
