The hospital as a whole is amazing; however the neurologist we've repeatedly dealt with in the emergency department is condescending and dismissive. My infant daughter has had eight tonic-clonic seizures in two months, three of which happened yesterday. Two of those three happened back to back with no recovery in between. I was told that if that happened to occur she needed to be seen as it constitutes an emergency. We live out of state, so we drove to our local E.R. and they called the neurologist on call at Primary Children's. He was uninterested and simply said to up her medication dose to 1.5 ml twice a day. She's currently taking 2 ml twice a day; so his advice was irrelevant. I was then told that they had nothing else to say about it. My hospital is small and does not have a doctor on staff capable of helping my child, so my baby received no care. The neurology department has continuously dismissed my baby and refused to allow her to be transferred from our hospital to theirs.
