Christian Huynh Review of Paddywagon Tours
Traveling with Paddywagon Tours was easy and also ...
Traveling with Paddywagon Tours was easy and also a good deal. I booked the 1-day-trip to Belfast including the Titanic Experience for 45 Euros.
I started at 9am at their first pickup point at Paddy's Palace, close to Tara Street Station. Check-in went quickly, just tell the freindly staff your name, take a seat and wait for further instructions. It takes about an hour for the company to pick up every single person at the three offered pick-up points.
After picking up everyone the bus went en route to Belfast, NI with a short stop at Monasterboice for about 20min. There you can take some pictures and visit the cemetery with the high crosses.
10min later on they will take you to services for going to toilets or grab a coffee. This stop takes about 20min. After that, they will take you straight to Belfast and you will arrive there by about 12.15am. The bus will stop at the Belfast City Hall. Now there are to options for you to choose:
1.) Taking the time and explore Belfast in your own
Or
2.) Taking a Black Cab Tour to the Troubled Areas
For anyone who likes to take a Black Cab Tour in Belfast: It's pretty interesting and totally worth it. Local taxi drivers will take you to Shankill Road and Falls Road and explain everything you need to know.
The Black Cab Tour ends at about 2.40pm at the City Hall of Belfast. It costs 15 Euros and you can pay in EUR or GBP. There is no need for you to organise a Black Cab Tour. Paddywagon Tours will ask at the services who want's to do them and organise one for you.
At 3pm, the bus will be going to the Titanic Experience. There you will have a self-guided tour. It's very interesting and also time-consuming so watch your time there.
At 5pm the bus will return to Dublin and depending on traffic and local conditions, you will be back in Dublin at about 7-8pm.
There is no lunch time planned on this trip, so make sure to bring your food and get some in the little time available in Belfast.
Overall, it's a nice and informative trip. But keep in mind that it is packed with things to do, so anyone who likes to travel at a slower pace should do a longer tour or rent a car. And anyone who likes to travel on a budget: definitively recommended!
Drivers are friendly, love to chat with their tour group and give a lot of information about Ireland and its history.
