Beautiful place, makes you feel classy and important. Not as expensive as you might think, but try to avoid the cheapest seats. They're not incredible.

Bring your kids, but make sure they're well behaved. Be punctual if you don't want to wait outside until intermission. Shows are usually quite long, but the excitement can make the time fly.
