I want to like this company, but overall I have not been impressed with customer service and overall interaction with staff. When I moved out of the apartment that was managed by 4 degrees I called them to ensure I would get my full deposit back as I had signed this agreement with previous management team before they took over the property. They assured me that if I cleaned everything I would get my deposit back, but when I got the check they had charged me $274. When I called to clarify I could not get a hold of them so I left a message. Over the next week I called several times and left a couple more messages. Finally they did get back to me the following week and told me that this was their policy (charging for cleaning, etc.) and were defensive when I brought up that I was told I would get my deposit back. They went on to say that no one would ever tell me that (from their office) and basically implied I was lying or making this stuff up. They said they would e-mail me their policy and I was appreciative of their gesture. I also brought up the fact that I was told I would get back a significant portion of my last month's rent as it would be pro-rated and I would only pay for 8 days of the month. Since then I have not received an e-mail regarding the policy or a check from the pro-rated month that I paid in full. I am currently attempting to contact them regarding this situation but it still has not been resolved after 1 1/2 months. I don't care anymore about them taking part of my deposit, but I still am trying to get my money back that I paid for the full month when I was only their 8 days. With these interactions I have had several conversations with people over the phone and noticed that although they are not outright indecent, they sure lack phone etiquette and respect to the customer. When answering the phone rarely do I hear them say their name, I occasionally hear sighs, and overall it does not sound like they are happy to help or mitigate issues. Due to the lack of professionalism I cannot give them anything more than a 1 star. I hope in the future they can do better, but for now when I talk to friends/coworkers/family I do not recommend their business. When I buy or sell a home I will not use their services.
