I went to one facility and left due to lack of care, inability to provide life saving meds in a timely fashion, and rude staff. This facility came highly recommended after I broke my leg in 2 places and had to be completely non weight bearing. I was put in a room, with no way to get to a bathroom. They brought me dinner, most of which I couldn't eat due to a restricted diet related to a kidney transplant. There were no choices, you ate what they had, or you could substitute a salad or turkey sandwich. But the worst part was medications. Before I left the hospital I was given a pain pill. It was 9 hours before I was given anything here. When I first asked I was told the supervisor needed to sign a form that wasn't done by the staff that checked me in. 3 hours later I was told the pharmacy screwed up. Finally got a pain pill. I am on immonosuppressant drugs after kidney transplant. I was told they needed to be ordered by the mail order pharmacy and would take 4 hours, but they would order them stay. I was then told that they were coming but wouldn't be here until 9:30pm, 10 at the latest. I have to take these pills at 9 pm. I arrived to the facility at 1:30 pm it's almost 11 pm and still no medication. This is absolutely unsafe medical treatment. And the comment the nurse made was, the hospital could have sent those medications with you. No, this facility had my chart for 2-3 days before I got there, they could have contacted the pharmacy knowing these could take longer to get. There is something wrong with a system that is trying to save lives and increase the quality of life for people, yet are not providing the appropriate services the patient needs.
