We stayed here this week and are very disappointed...

We stayed here this week and are very disappointed. I booked two queen rooms as my son and daughter-in-law were with us. Had asked that they be adjoining or side by each---they weren't. The room we got was, I guess, behind another room because it had a hallway about half the length of a bowling alley. The hotel is under renovation and we got a newly renovated room (ha ha);. For a "Queen" room, it was extremely cramped with the only place to sit (outside of the desk) was on the bed. Also, the mattress was the smallest Queen size mattress I have ever seen??? No closet, but, there was a very small armoire--the hanging bar inside it was broken and we had to call housekeeping to have it fixed & my wife couldn't enjoy a bath because the "stopper" wouldn't stay down in the bathtub (remember--this is a newly renovated room???). The heater/air conditioner was quite noisy as well--probably should be replaced. Not a good experience at all. I had stayed here a few years ago when it was the Metropolitan and it was really good--that's why I re-booked here again. I will be going to another hotel the next time. The only saving grace for this hotel was the Lai Wah Heen restaurant on the second floor. We enjoyed one of the best dining experiences of our lives there this past Monday night. Next time, I will take a taxi to this restaurant, from another downtown hotel.
