I would be very careful before choosing The Montefiore Home for your loved ones. They are all about the money first. Doesn't matter if your Jewish and the many bad reviews enforce the truth.

My mother Dorothy Lebovitz passed away on April 14, 2018. Her kidneys were failing her and although she didn't like the idea of a nursing home, The Montefiore Home was the only one she would go to. Her mother was there and also her sister.

We had much communication with Administration at the home but when my mother needed to be admitted the Administration turned her down because they said she was trying to hide assets when in fact the Montefiore Home administration didn't do their job and blamed it on the family causing me to have to go and get a non-Jewish Nursing Home.

Can you believe it?

The Non-Jewish Nursing Home "Manor Care" opened their arms unconditionally as did "Grace Hospice." Money was not going to be an issue with them. They stated we would worry about that later. Problem was when I had to tell my Mother that on Monday we had to leave the hospital and where we were going she was heart broken.

Long story short on that Monday of the move my Mother passed away.

Thanks Montefiore Home for looking after your own. Especially thanks to Galina Hoolin who handles the Medicaid issues. The five years of bank statements that we had was never asked for by Galina and this is what we were blamed for and this is why my mother was denied entrance to the home.

This is all I can say. It was a shame this happened and the Montefiore home administration should be ashamed of themselves. Will they ever take responsibility of what they did?

I will end this review here.
