It s always great to be greeted by Club Manager Sandra. We had somewhat hoped to move into the Villas because they offer ceiling fans. Sandra and Jasmine hooked us up with a standing fan and that worked just as well.
As for our room, we tried three different times to secure an extra pillow over the course of multiple days. We finally caught someone in the hallway delivering pillows and took those. We also called room service for a cheese platter on our first night there. We receive a phone call about an hour later saying it was on its way. Another hour later, we finally hung out the do not disturb sign and went to bed.
Beverly in the Loyalty Department was very helpful in explaining some new procedures within their Loyalty programs. It was enough for us to decide to try the on-site booking again. Here s hoping that the ability to transfer our stay to a local travel agent for final arrangements really works!
My thoughts about the room itself are likely colored by the fact we spent the first and last nights on the island at the Holiday Inn Express. I m betting that Sandals considers itself a step up from there. But, they had TV channels that actually worked. If IHG can figure out how to let my husband watch football and provide me with movie options while I m in Nassau, I would think Sandals could as well. Ditto for the internet service.
We were happy to see Momo there from Snapshots. We prefer her for our photo session, because she is willing to think outside the norm.
Along those lines whomever added the bug spray dispenser to the resort pier is a genius. Now, can we be greedy and ask for several of those to be placed around the island?

We were thrilled to see that Arizona had been promoted to a manager at Spices. She always steps up to fill voids that she sees. I just think there were too many voids and not enough people.
We really missed seeing Fluffy, and his special reserve, in the piano bar. This year we were able to interact more with Sophia. For the record, she makes the best Buttery Nipple of any of the resort s bartenders.
As for the dive team, we are thrilled they are still there. That crew provides a service to us all year long. They provide advice when we re looking at equipment and just generally keep in touch. I really would feel like I was cheating on them if I ever went to another resort. It was great to get to know Leslie and Capt. Naren better this year. We look forward to seeing him and Capt. Hall pilot their new boat next year. Capt. Hall is always great about helping us learn more about the ocean and weather. He s also pretty handy helping me get back into the boat!
But, for us, the whole trip really comes down to Wenzel, Nelson, Sammy, Sonny, Ramon, Brian and Damien. Those guys literally keep us alive. We re putt-putt divers, and these guys keep us safe. They take a lot of flak from people us included. The weather was not their friend this year, but they just took it all in stride even though it meant much more work for them. We had our own personal struggles this year fighting a cold and getting our ears to clear. They were incredibly patient with us, so we were still able to have a great experience. Alfred has done a great job of keeping this team together and working as a group. I m really looking forward to seeing how things evolve under his leadership.
