Charming setting and atmosphere. It really feels like a lodge, a hunting lodge of sorts. The restaurant is a collection of small dining areas which makes it private and cozy. It also has a nice outdoor area with a patio that provides the opportunity for some great photos. It would actually be a perfect location for a small family gathering or even a small wedding reception.

As for the food, it was good and tasty. Flavors were strong. Visited for Houston Restaurant Weeks and we tried the Duck Gumbo, Texas Fried Quail with Grits, Pan-Seared Snapper with Jambalaya and the Jumbo Crab Cake. My favorites were the Grits, Jambalaya and Gumbo. Yet, it's nothing really special. They have $2 Mimosas till 3PM for brunch.

Would go again for a friends/family gathering but don't know if I would return just for the food.
