This is a bit long but the process to get my basement waterproofed also took a while.
The initial consultant from US Waterproofing did an excellent job of laying out what would be required. He went over options in great detail, drew diagrams and explained points that were not clear. Unbeknownst to him I had already had a structural engineer in to look at the basement because of suspected structural problems.
The US Waterproofing consult matched exactly what the structural engineer had told me without trying to inflate what needed to be done and was amazingly patient with all of my questions. Unlike two other companies I had interviewed. He was also candid that the project might be delayed if weather became an issue because of the long lead time to get the project scheduled.
About five weeks before the install another inspector came out to verify the facts - and this was the only sour point of the review. He informed me that we had to replace a few windows and concrete sills prior to the installation. Because of codes where I live these would have to become egress windows out of the basement. With winter fast approaching and cold weather threatening the project I had to get custom windows installed prior to US Waterproofing doing their work. Working with an amazing company after several window companies refused to do the job in such short notice the windows were completed at midnight prior to the waterproofing.
Again, there was a disconnect and when the guys showed up some of the work was not listed on the contract. Again, what could have resulted in a screaming match with most contractors was resolved by their in house people and amazing work by the contracting crew. Several surprises came up during the installation that could have halted the project. Each time the construction crew, on site, handled it with great skill and customer service. They were simply amazing, friendly, open and gave me a professional service and cleaned up afterwards. On a cold, miserable day they were the highlight of the day.
Since my flood this has been one of my best contractor experiences and the professionalism of this company were superb. Being a disabled veteran myself knowing this was a company started by a veteran made my day completely.
