0 stars. Have buyers remorse for even having considered doing business with Mattamy. The quality is poor, at best. Mattamy does not follow through with promises made to buyers, do band-aid repairs to appease, believe everything is one of the following: 1) aesthetics only, 2) “within industry standards” or 3) “house is settling”. In the three months since signing for the home. I have spent this entire time working to get all the items noted at first walkthrough, corrected. Paint appears to have been done by incompetent painters, tile company is terrible, as quality of the work is mediocre at best, plumbers are so bad they had to get replaced, drywall experts are anything but, leaving the home with nothing but tape and/or mud lines that are visible throughout. Left paint stains on tiles, in carpets, on hardware, etc. paint used was PRIMER diluted with minimal flat white paint. Baseboards not caulked at joining spots. Door gets painted in hinges leaving the original primed wood showing when door is opened and if you change locks, you will see all the unpainted areas. Carpet layers have been out 3 times and have yet to get the carpet completed correctly, with areas of air bubbles remaining in the carpet to date. Having come from construction families on both sides of the family, this is the absolutely worst homes you can find. Mattamy claims they take complaints personal but the regional leadership deserve to be fired for incompetence & are worthless in all aspects. They have zero control of the vendors used across the trades. If we had to do it again, we absolutely would walk away. As dual veterans, fully disabled, to be treated like trash by this home builder is a slap
In the face & fact that they could care less if the work is done correctly, let alone completed, means a lot. Of the current owners, ~80% got independent inspectors and almost 100% of those owners are currently in dispute with warranty for repairs. Never, EVER buy from Mattamy. BUYER BEWARE!

Joe Russo is unprofessional, condescending, and insulting. His staff come and go because they hire cheap, inexperienced, weak-minded, unqualified help. Workers supporting the build get paid by how many homes they complete work on each day.

Todd Hahn, VP of Operations and Russo’s boss, doesnt even acknowledge correspondence sent to him.

CJ, with Warranty, been here mere weeks, trash. Man cannot stand by his own words. Whatever unprofessional slob that did not even introduce himself, whom CJ brought with him this last time got kicked out of my house for disrespect and trying to talk down to me. He is scum just like Joe Russo.

Dozens of owners barely past one year are selling already, all due to dissatisfaction.

If you want to have a quality build you, a home and investment you are proud of, dont buy Mattamy, in Arizona at least.

Mattamy has less than 1-star across the greater Phienix area and considered one of the worst builders with some of the lowest quality homes in this region.

Do your research, talk to existing owners, ask inspectors about Mattamy’s reputation. If you are an executive at Mattamy Corp, you should be windering why so many owners are dissatisfied and why your local management is ruining your brand and reputation.

Ask why owners across this region are coming together to start petitions against you. Why does everyone who deals with a two-faced weasel like Russo walk away disgusted and insulted.

My wife and I grew up in construction families. We are retired veterans who bought our first home with the goal to leave our children with a home they could be proud of and instead we have a money pit for a home and our VA losn is paying for a residence that after 9-months is still one big storage.

Ask why anyone deserves to be treated so poorly after having spent more than a half million dollars on what should be a quality home.

I hope these reviews begin to make it to the corporate headquarters in Canada where the board resides and they investigate Russo and the rest of those responsible for treating new homeowners so poorly and putting the Mattamy name on such poor quality.

I wish there was a way to post 0 stars here. We have bought homes from other builders such as Great Gulf who have phenomenal customer service and professionalism. Mattamy on the other hand is far from professional and does not concern themselves with customer care. It started with first incorrectly overcharging us $25,000 on the purchase agreement which was later corrected after they determined an issue with their system (make sure you do your own math at the design centre) and then to top it off there is a green Transformer box in front of the door of the property we purchased. We bought the property prior to any work by the city so we had no way of knowing the green box would be there. We were okay with taking the risk that a utility transformer box could be on our property but to have it placed in a manner that completely disregards the home owners value is very disappointing. This was even more disappointing as we had paid a premium for the lot. Customer service was not interested in assisting and just reminded us to read our contract. I would recommend if you have to buy a home from them, I would make sure that the utility boxes have been placed already or ideally would recommend you go to another builder who is willing to provide this information upfront. #MyMattamy

Worst company Ive ever had to deal with. I could never recommend them to anyone. Bouncy floors, cracks, missing paint, missing bricks. Its been 6 months since Ive moved in and barely any work has been done to remedy my problems.

I don't know how they get the title " BUILDER OF THE YEAR " when they can't fix leak for over 2 years now. Buyers be aware don't buy from Mattamy. After 2 years they telling me they have nothing to do with that because last time when it leak we had the ice storm and I have to clean the ice from the balcony (at 1am middle of an ice storm) so I don't have water coming in from the bottom of the door and prevent the leak in my garage and leaving room. My next door neighbor had the same issue and couple of other houses, and the worsed is that we got the same email from the customer care manager. This matter would be taken further.

I bought the house from them. After a year AC stoped working. Talked to them and they said the warranty is over when no one will use AC in winter. Technically should be under warranty. Another owner have same problem. Leaky condenser. Guess what they used the cheep condencer so it will brake down after year. Bad customer service, bad company. Bad, bad, bad

My family has been a long buyer of Mattamy homes. Over the years, we have seen the quality of their homes go down. Recently I had the "honour" to witness corruption and sheer stupidness at their Milton Sales Office. Apperantely this office wants you to handle their admin work for them. What do I mean by that? On September 9th at 10am there was suppose to be registration for new project. My father i went to stand in line on September 8 roughly around 8pm. We sat there for a good 4 hours before finding out there is an unofficial list being passed around that is being handled by an unauthorized individual. I never signed it because it was not authorized by Mattamy. Over 150 people followed to put their names on this sheet like good little sheep without even asking who authorized. To my dismay the next day this was confirmed by one of the Mattamy representative who works at the Milton Office location that they will honour that list because in the past they have noticed this works out better than having to deal with a "black Friday" situation on registration day. I am sorry if this works in so well then why did you not formally leave a notice at you office doors for people coming in after to know if this "new" process you have embraced? And then he tells me its first come first serve? SO someone can line up 4 days before put their name on a list they created, get it approved by one of your Mattamy reps then go home and force other people to follow your list and if they don't then you have no say? Are you serious? Oh also, isn't it great that these people on this list had to just come in every 3 hours for attendance and then just get to leave until the next attendance while there were people who were out in the cold for 12+ hours. What about these people? Hey Mattamy Milton Sales office how about you try using your process that you have in place ex. your token system where you hand out tokens to people OFFICIALLY! OR how about the way your Mattamy Brampton Sales office did it where they made an OFFICIAL list and stuck it on their front door to show people on later these people will have priority during the day of registration and that you are more than welcome to stay and wait! Why would i discuss how to deal with "Black Friday" style registration days amongst other potential buyer?! When it is your job as the seller to set in rules for situations like that Mattamy! WOuRST sales office ever. Yes lets all create our own rules and regualtion and have it honoured by some idiot employer who proceed to leave without putting out appropriate notification and awareness. I have never met such poorly managed anything. We are coming to potentially buy HOMES! There is better strategic approaching taken in lowe-end retail stores! I would be embarrassed being associated with a place such as Milton Mattamy homes in any way.

Doing touchups and warranty repairs with Mattamy has been the most frustrating experience I've ever had with any builder. They drag things on and on, literally one baby step at a time. We send them the items that needs to be fixed, first time the guy comes and they can't repair anything as he's not qualified to do any of the work. We'll literally have contractors come in 6 times through 4 months to just fix two issues.

During Covid, you would expect Mattamy to be more efficient to finish the job but this is brutal. I understand now why they have such low ratings on Google.

I'm in the downsview district and it is as bad as anyone else. Try multiple emails and phone contact with them to non-responsive answers. Been to their warranty office and all I get is broken promises and not understanding the needs of the consumer. All this is a big company cheating on their mission statement and the consumers hard earn dollar. What makes me mad is that things that can be done in 15 mins to an hour will take a year to complete. Incompetence is really what Mattamy Corp. feels like to me and the community.

Once Mattamy homes gets your deposits and secures the sale all customer service goes down the drain. Lori from the Warranty office is a real piece of work. They don't take any blame when they drop the ball with clear evidence in black and white . There isn't a thing called common courtesy or an apology from Mattamy. Do yourselves a favor and purchase from any other builder other than Mattamy.

I was supposed to purchase a house in calgary mattamy homes by city scape 3months ago and i already put a deposit on it. Unfortunately because of financial reason i was not approved by the bank so we signed the form for the refund of the deposit. The agreement says that the money will be refunded with in 60 days but it is almost 3 months but i never heard even an update atleast since the last time i visited their office before the 60days mark..so frustrating..
