This will be my first hotel review. This is long overdue... First, and last time staying at this Doubletree location. The cleaning, and service staff are wonderful. Rooms were great. The problem is the management. The back end Manager Matt is exceptionally rude to patrons once you have him on the phone and not in person among the public eye. I spent a fair amount of money spending three nights at this establishment, and I was disappointed. I should have read further reviews on Trip Advisor regarding his attitude. He presents himself as polite, until you have a pressing issue. I had lost a pair of costly glasses at this hotel, and when I inquired about it perhaps being found the Front Desk Manager, was very stand offish. This Manager was was too focused on booking other patrons, and snubbed me off to an assistant staffer in a manner that was not respectful. "Do you mind there are customers waiting to be served..." I had spent no more than one minute explaining that I last had my glasses in the lobby bathrooms and had searched even the room I was checking out of.
They made it seem like I was bothering them to ask for help regarding a pair of missing prescription glasses. I was no longer relevant as I was checking out and they already had my payment. I would have not thought, that gaining assistance would have been an inconvenience to them. I went home with a business card, and called later. When I explained the situation to the back end manager Matt, I was again faced with condescension and my expression on the fact that the front desk was not polite set off a completely different attitude. It's like they feared liability on missing glasses or something. These people value group thinking, over professionalism in hospitality. There is no concept of good business management.
I never received a second phone call follow up regarding my glasses, but was antagonised to escalate my grievances to corporate. That's how Matt chose to end the call. Pure ignorance.
