a m Review of Bolongo Bay Beach Club
The first time we went to Bolongo Bay Was January ...
The first time we went to Bolongo Bay Was January 28, 1989 for our honeymoon. We had an ocean view room on the second floor. Beaches beautiful staff wonderful food fantastic. We have been back numerous times since then and of course things do change. Due to hurricanes and beach erosion, the beach is a little bit smaller but just as beautiful. Since the last hurricane Iggies Down the beach is closed but the owners have made the main lobster grille Iggy s oasis. Although I loved strolling down the beach to Iggy s for a quick slider or fish taco the owners have really done a fantastic job to deal with the result of the hurricane.
We are going back in January again for our 32nd anniversary. Do I wish Iggy s was open down the beach sure I do but you make your vacation as fun and happy as you want it. The food is delicious the staff are wonderful and very accommodating. Sure the rooms can be a little dated but how often are you really in the rooms? They are clean, beds are comfortable plenty of hot water. You can be as formal as you want or as informal as you wantTo a degree. The only con that we run into which is really not a con is the no See ums that like your ankles at night time. The resort has spray for your ankles but I always bring a small bottle anyway. Not a big deal. The ladies in the gift shop can help you out with any tours or extracurricular activities. The sunset cruise on heavenly days is a must do. Of course there are people that want chandeliers and Crystal but they can go somewhere else. Bolongo is as quiet as you want it to be or you can hang by the bar and listen to the music and the bands that they have. You are never bored. We went zip lining last year we ve done parasailing, of course the sunset cruise, we ve taken the ferry over to Saint John to the beach for a day. You will not be disappointed if you want beautiful beach great food comfortable accommodations. The perfect getaway
