In some ways, it's hard to "review" an opera house. Frankly, it's hard to review any theater. What are you reviewing it for? The architecture ? The sound? The sightlines? The Metropolitan Opera House is one of America's iconic cultural facilities. From the Chagall paintings to the sweeping staircase, it is one of the more recognizable theaters in America. All the technical aspects of the hall are quite good. You can see well from nearly all the seats, and, with a few exceptions (such as the very back of the Orchestra seats), the sound is excellent. It seems a bit dated now in its design, but I suppose that's inevitable once a "modern" building becomes not so new..
