Most people who write reviews about their stay in El Greco, Puerto Rico write that "here it is CLEAN and tidy". We thought so too, until I stayed in the bathroom for a while after the washerwoman came and started cleaning there. The first thing she started with was spraying with something from a bottle and then washing with CLOTH DOWN IN THE TOILET! Then she washed the toilet ring and lid, then continued with the bidet.
Then she continued to spray the walls in the shower cubicle and wash with the SAME CLOTH! Then I stopped her and asked if she had no more cloths than just this one, and if she had any knowledge of bacteria. She held up the spray bottle and probably thought the contents there were disinfectant enough! I forbade her to use this cloth in the washbasin, but what she did when I went out of the bathroom, I have no idea. This was a real shock - what if the same cloth had been used in the toilets in the other apartments as well? After this discovery, we boiled water and rinsed all the dishes in the kitchen every day. The incident was immediately reported to the front desk of the hotel.
Our stay was from March 21-28, 2019.
