We booked this hotel last minute and I m guessing room 318 is the last room they sell. We came into the room and the first thing we saw were the bright flood lights that light up the Chateau, but they were shining into our room. Once our eyes adjusted, we saw that the room was a nice size, though pretty outdated, then we walked to the window, shielding our eyes from the spotlights. What we saw immediately made us sad. A view of a roof with some trash on it, as you can see in the photo. We had just purchased some chocolate covered strawberries from the Branson Landing and went to put them in the small refrigerator, but oh wait, no fridge! Couldn t tell you the last time I didn t have a fridge in the hotel. Maybe that hostel in Europe.
The next morning we go to check on spa services, but oh wait, the spa amenities are closed due to COVID. The website says the spa is open Wednesday to Sunday, not that the common area in the spa is closed due to COVID. To top it all off, I just checked my credit card statement to see I was charged 20% more than what I was quoted on the phone when booking. They didn t honor the military discount they offered me on the phone.
If the hotel amenities and half the services are shut down, it s not worth paying for a five-star resort.
The pool is really nice, breakfast was decent, but nothing to write home about.
So far, we are not pleased that we paid for a five star resort and it feels like a Holiday Inn would ve been better.
We were hoping for a nice, romantic getaway before my deployment to the Middle East in a few weeks, but so far, it looks like we chose the wrong place.
Really overpriced.
