Wooooo this place right here...spectacular. And let me preface this by saying I'm a hater of Italian restaurants because most of them are low quality in terms of noodles, sauces, ingredients and the like. My mind was blown.
The ambiance had a romantic elegance to it. So for any guys trying to lock it down, this is a nice spot to take your crush. The cuisine is a bit pricy but the location is on Newport Beach so you have to expect that.
The service was excellent by the main server (Jeremy James) and his team. They were so attentive and answered all our questions about the menu. To anyone from the restaurant reading this, they really took care of us all night long. 5 star service experience right there alone. Given that it was a Monday night, it was not packed so the weekend experience may differ.
The plates were astonishing good. Bruschetta was a great start along with the Pilopo con Patate if you like octopus. I tried both the Goulash and the Vermicelli. If you don't like seafood, don't get the Vermicelli but that was my favorite dish of the night. The Goulash was very very good as the meat was really tender and the fettuccine that it was with made for the perfect pairing.
I can't believe that after 5 years of visiting Fashion Island, I never once visited this place. I will definitely be making a return to try out more stuff. 10/10 from me.
