$10 for parking AND then admission seems a bit rude.
Limited accessibility due to covid so return ticket for 2021 was given. Bonus.
Wow factor exhibits in minimalist display form.
Lacks detail on a 'did you know' level (stats/tid bits/tech talk/random facts). Some news articles would help (collage wallpaper). Launch shot photo wall would be awesome.
Space boot prints leading to an exhibit in Armstrong's size?
If you've ever been to the Dive Museum in Key Largo you'll see the biggest and most diverse collection of dive gear. All the wall space and ceiling is packed with info.
1. Memorial section takes for granted that you know what happened to the Challenger & Columbia. It's great to see the successes but failures are important learning too. I didn't see any info about what happened and why. Their personal items was a nice touch.
2. Obviously only the American history, but it would be good to have parallel achievements/items from China & Russia for perspective (Space race).
3. Didn't see any news footage or a map of the Atlantis' journey to Canaveral (removing trees along the route was an interesting tid bit)
4. Not sure what the dates were in the hall of fame (when they made it in?) but would've been good to see DOB, birthplace, years in program & rank under their names.
5. Path to pilot - What it takes to be an astronaut. Was that a thing? I didn't see it. Physical testing and top test ratings etc?
6. Ladies section would be a great career drive... From the original number crunchers to those in technical roles & of course astronauts.
