Super 8 with Hilton signage. We had stayed on Hilton Miami Airport and Hilton Panama in the past month and had been impressed with the professionalism, facilities, and amenities. So for our anniversary, we thought it would be a similar experience at Hilton Cocoa Beach Oceanfront. We made an online reservation for a "Coastline View" room, realizing that the room would probably be on the side of the building. We arrived and the valet desk was vacant. We just left our car and luggage there and went in to check in. I proactively clarified with the attendant that the "Coastline View" was not overlooking the parking the lot, she verified it was not. We then went back to our car, still no valet, and unloaded our bags from the trunk. We then encountered the valet who looked at us like we were out of place. After a moment of awkward silence, he asked if he could do something for us. I asked if he was the valet and he confirmed that he was. I asked if he could park our car. We then carried our own bags to the elevator and up to our room I didn't even realize until today, that there was no one to help with our luggage. As we walked down the long hallway towards the parking lot, I had a bad feeling in my gut. Sure enough, we had a small parking lot view room for $260, no help with our luggage, and a questionable valet. We went to the front desk and very calmly expressed our concerns and asked for a refund. The supervisor was initially uncooperative and told us there was a 24 hr cancellation policy and she would not refund our money. While I was on hold with Hilton Honors, she approached my wife and let her know that she had contacted her manager and would refund us. We salvaged the weekend by staying at the Inn at Cocoa Beach where everything was amazing.
