Review of Terranea Resort

The rooms were nice with comfortable beds and good space. The decor is pleasant and the carpet nice for a hotel. The resort has a golf course and there are 3 pools. One pool is adult only but it was closed when we were there in early November. There is only one hot tube which is by the busiest of the pools with lots of kids. The fitness center is decent and they have a few classes. I tried taking a yoga class but if filled up. There is a nice walkway along the coast. Downsides: The wifi and cellular signal are not strong around the resort. It was fine in our room but while walking around the grounds, we often lost signal. Even in our room, it wasn't fast wifi. Our room didn't have a coffee machine but I found out after checking out that my parents room did have one so I think that was left out of our room. Quite annoying since I didn't think to ask the front desk for a coffee machine. The clock by the bed was also not adjusted for daylight savings change that happened a week prior. There wasn't a way to change it by ourselves. Of the three showers I took, only one had really hot water. The rest were lukewarm. There was no safe in the room. There is no real beach, there is a cove with really coarse sand and really rocky. When we were there, the waves were rough so don't expect to do any ocean swimming from the resort. (We did see one person swim.) The location is not ideal for any sightseeing in LA but was a nice place to relax for a weekend.
