I'm not sure how the typical room is here; we stayed in a two bedroom villa and it was extremely spacious. That is where the positive adjectives stop.
We had a room booked at the Steamboat Grand and were so shocked at how unkept and musty the room smelled we walked out on our deposit and last minute booked the two room suite at the Sheraton.
The photos on Hotels.com were flattering, but not exactly what it looks like in person. These rooms are old and likely last updated (and not by much) a decade ago at best. Old carpet, dirty windows, mildew covered caulking and broken shower tile grout in the guest bath (so gross neither of us would shower in there).
Carpet was pulling apart at the seams and my computer monitor at home is bigger than any of the TV's.
Three stars only because it had all the amenities, washer and dryer (dryer didn't work for *#+@), a descent balcony over looking the slopes, and a full kitchen.
These hotel execs are all about lining their pockets as quickly as possible it seems. More money for them getting you in the door with a nice looking exterior and lobby. Very little reinvestment in repairing and updating the rooms.
