I have had two recent experiences with Jim Ellis service. The first time, I had an appointment but dropped the car off before my appointment. They decided not to look at the car that day and kept it. The second day they looked at it and, even though I had authorized fixing up to a certain amount, they decided not to fix and kept the car 2 more days so I had a rental car for 4 days, adding to my expense. In the end they only needed to do an oil change and clean the engine compartment because the problem was a previous botched oil change done by Express Oil Change. While they don't find it important to get your job done, they do want to make sure you have all of your service items like cabin air filters done there. They ask about that sort of thing every time they talk to you.

I came back with another appointment to have the car evaluated because it is getting poor mileage. Again they made an appointment but didn't really plan on looking at it at the appointment time. I ended up having to drop it off and, by they time they looked at it, I had to take the car back without having any work done.

The person you are able to talk to is not the mechanic. The mechanic will not call you. I found myself on the phone with the service coordinator relaying my questions to the mechanic in the same room, which was better than the previous time when any question was followed by another 2 hour wait for the coordinator to talk to the mechanic.

Anyhow, I'm done with this garage as my car is out of warranty. I show up for my appointments. They do not show up for theirs.
