This organization is just like the BBB, a fraud, its meant to act as a buffer between the big companies and people being able to sue them. The public utilities board members are appointed by gov officials, many are X employees of the utility companies. This organization does nothing but protects big business. They discriminate against the disabled by requiring people to drive 3 hours away for disputes. This is just a fascade pretending to protect the customers. Most states have sued or filed criminal charges against frontier for ripping people off. This group is just letting them get away with ripping the elderly, handicapped and poor off. The people who represent the utilities some have worked at this job for 30 years and know the PUCO officials personally, they are "buds". During informal meetings they let the utility gang up on the private person. And if you don't agree to the formal settlement, which basically its whatever the utility wants, then the PUCO officials get confrontation with you, and they obviously don't like you at that point. At that point, less than 2 percent of the public has won cases against the PUCO. Google it, there are some good articles newspapers have wrote about the PUCO. It's basically a show.. the gov officials appoint their cronies to the job, then after a few years of playing the game the way the utilities want them to, they get high paying jobs in the private industry. It's a sham. They don't want courts of law viewing this, so they created the "commision" (kinda reminds you of an organized crime name, doesnt it?) So any utility can do whatever they want, and basically no court of law can help you. I was charged $500 for work that #1 was not done, and #2 not authorized. It seems the utilitiy companies can go in, and do any work they want, and charge the individual. And they also try to say they don't regulate companies when you first call. They tried to tell me if you have call waiting on your phone, that makes void any regulatory control they have over the utility.
