This is a great place to bring your family to see first hand the amazing engineering and ingenuity of American space exploration. Its my honor to post here since my Uncle Jesse H. Thomas, was a Director at Kennedy Space Center during its construction. He would sit and tell me exactly how many miles of steel cable and its specificity that he ordered for various projects. Highway 520 and Courtney Parkway were dirt roads when my family moved to Merritt Island in 1949. My uncle Ray Gordon Thomas, worked here for twenty-six years until his death as an architectural draftsman. He was a gifted artist and was chosen by Kennedy Space Center to paint a lifelike realistic painting of the first men to walk on the moon (prior to the first men walking on the moon.) In July 1969, when Neil Armstrong and Edwin Aldrin walked into the Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB) and saw my uncle's work of art, they commented on how lifelike it really was to my uncles credit. God bless the Guardians and the U.S. Space Force created by our great President Donald J. Trump!
