Since I am new to the area, I thought I would try a dealer to see what's wrong with my car. My 2006 Chevy Cobalt has been rolling to a stop when I drive under 30mph and my check engine light was on. After visiting Jim Ellis, I realized why I NEVER go to car dealers for service. Since I live in the city, Jim Ellis is kind of far so I made an appointment for 7:00AM so that I could drop my car off and get to work on time (which is downtown). So when I arrived, I was the third car there (6:45am). So I'm thinking, this is great - I will be in and out by the end of the day. A service rep got me checked in and informed me that Dara would be my service consultant. Dara made sure she said hi before I left. She said she would call me when they figured out what the problem was. Well 12:00pm rolls around and I haven't heard from them. I called twice and no answer. I called a third time around 1:30pm and Dara answers and says they haven't gotten to my car yet and that it's still early. So I explained to her that I'm trying to make transportation arrangements so I need to know what's going on. Well 3pm rolls around, still no phone call and that point, I was very upset. So my guy friend calls them around 3:30 and Dara explains that they still haven't seen my car yet - she also said they are a very busy shop and had a lot of walk ins blah blah. From what I can remember, people who make appointments have priority over walk-ins! Any way, they offer me a 2014 Suburban because they need to keep my car for another day. So I get there at 6:10ish, rushing because Dara was getting off at 6:30. She all of a sudden had some results. 1. she said they couldn't figure out why the car was stopping while driving. 2. In order to see why the check engine light is they need to replace some oxygen thing (sorry, I don't know much about cars). I said, how much is that going cost? She said, $360 for hour and a half labor. I said no thank you, give me my car back. She said ok, we will will comp you for today. Seriously? I'm not paying anything! They had my car for almost 11 hours and they didn't do a thing! My friend asked if I could get a customer service survey. She said no, that's only for warranty customers (that's crap). I would not recommend this place AT ALL!!
