Mark Permann Review of The Hotel of South Beach

Excellent choice for first visit to South Beach. My Annex (building on Ocean Drive) room was quiet enough that I had no need for the provided earplugs. It was clean, stylishly decorated, very bright, and included a spacious, well lit and clean bathroom. Rooftop pool is small but heated and very pleasant and has a view of the ocean; service was friendly and efficient! Guests are diverse, American and European, twenties to retirement age. Very close to beach and hubbub with just enough remove from it. They even included flip-flops with the room! A CVS for your beach needs is 1 block away. No resort fee! Beautiful art deco lobby...walking distance to SoFi and Lincoln Road Mall....Citibike stations close by. And I believe, competitively priced for all of that!
By the way, if you do stay in the Annex, the walk to the Collins Ave building (where lobby and pool are) is no big deal IMO. Half a block. Nor is the entryway through News Cafe. A tiny tiny bit less convenient, but the Annex room I stayed in was excellent.
