Bunq used to be an excellent bank... The keyword here is "used to be." Since their update to the latest version and all the paid credit cards they want customers to pay money for, it has become an unusable app. They no longer take their PAYING customers who don't pay the extra fee for a credit card into account. The app has a bunch of unnecessary statistics and buttons now that only apply to people with the credit cards.

Their support is slow and hard to reach and they never respond to all the questions. This is made worse by the fact that you can only open one support ticket at a time, so if you have two issues, you are forced to mix them together and then only get a response for half of what you sent... They told me this was on purpose to prevent duplicates.

I also had quite a few unrecognized charges this morning. There used to be a button to report those. I never needed it but I knew it was there. Now that I wanted to actually use the button on my six unrecognized charges from the same merchant, there wasn't an option anymore.

Now, their procedure is that I have to first reach out to the merchant (not an option in this case, as there is no merchant... it's just random Bank of America charges), then prove to them that the merchant is unhelpful and then, and only then, will they maybe take action. I have reached out to their support again, but I am pretty sure those 70 EUR are gone forever...

I can't wait to switch bank. Already working on finding another bank that fits my needs.

For a bank that charges me quite a bit of money each month, I would expect customer service, a functioning app, and things like that, but at BUNQ this is no longer the case. Stay away! :(
