We booked the Hotel because it is was a Plus. Most Best Westerns I've stayed at are average or below average compared to other hotels chains in this price range. The Plus versions are usually newer or have gone through major renovations. This hotel should not be rated as a plus, rather it should be rated as a minus for what you pay. Hotel is really close to the Tacoma Dome and is taking advantage of folks going to events where they can party it up with-out having a long drive or walk to their hotel. The hotel is dated, rooms are in need of updating and the level of cleanliness is not up to standard. We booked a King, went to the room and although it was a king room, there was a queen bed as I suspect there were issues with the king bed.
They did not seem apologetic and we almost felt guilty for requesting the appropriate bed size we originally wanted. What probably bothered me the most is that I had to work hard at convincing my wife to stay there in the first place and now after the experience she refuses to ever stay in a Best Western. It seems like there are no standards between the various hotels. As a best western rewards member it makes it really tough to support the chain when this happens.
FYI the shower head now works in the room and does not spray the ceiling or floor thanks to my limited handyman expertise. This will give the person staying in the room after us less to complain about. Unfortunately I did not have any tools with me to fix the electrical plug-ins.
