The MET always puts on extremely high end productions with fantastic staging, direction, and performances by all of the talented performers involved. I was blown away by the performance of The Exterminating Angel that I saw and hope to be back for many more.
An important note (especially to those arriving just before curtain). The subtitles at The MET are on individual screens with purposefully narrow viewing angles so as to not distract other opera-goers. These screens are great and I much prefer them to the projected screens above the stage at many opera companies, however, there is a small button that you must press to activate the screen. Make sure you press that before the lights go off because it's hard to find once the do. Again, great system and even greater opera company. Highly recommend!
