david abrams Review of The Concourse Hotel at Los Ang...

The customer service at this hotel is surprisingly poor. The internet access wasn't working in my room; I complained about it but nothing was done.
When I checked out, I mentioned the problem figuring that the night clerk would give me a 5 or 10% discount for my inconvenience. Instead, she was incredibly hostile, insisting that I should have complained (even though I actually had complained) and refused to give me any kind of discount. Her English was really bad, and it was hard to tell if she was pretending not to understand me or if she actually didn't understand me.
I later attempted to contact the hotel manager and the Hyatt national number and was repeatedly promised calls back, but did not receive them. In my view, that's ridiculous. Any reputable hotel should have a person in a position of authority who responds promptly to guest issues. In this hotel, apparently, nobody is responsible for anything.
Furthermore, it's common sense that if the hotel doesn't provide you with the services you were promised, you should promptly receive a modest discount with an apology -- not a hostile rebuff.
After the most recent failure to contact me, I finally lost patience with Hyatt and requested a full refund. We'll see what happens.
