I brought my 2016 Toyota Tacoma in recently to be inspected for a squeaking noise coming from the rear. My Tacoma has only 35,000 miles on it and I was surprised to have this issue. The mechanics unfortunately did not properly identify where the squeaking noise was coming from. They misdiagnosed it as the silencer pads between the leaf springs needing to be replaced, which would have cost me $300.00 in parts and labor. Fortunately I replaced them myself saving over $240.00, yet still had squeaking noise once replaced properly. I again took it back to Toyota at Keith Pearson the following week, and was told I needed to clean between the leaf springs. I spent 2 hours cleaning them thoroughly, still squeaked. Finally realized that the mechanics did not do a thorough inspection both times I brought it in to be checked. The noise was coming from my spare tire being slightly loose, easily identified by jumping on the tailgate and having someone listen underneath the Tacoma. I hope you guys take better care instead of charging the customer for something that is not the problem. This is disappointing and I will not be taking my Tacoma here for any further service, except for safety recalls.
