Carrie Petzold Review of Genesys Regional Medical Cente...

I went to Genesys emergency on a Wednesday afternoon, in so much pain I couldn't function. I knew it was my gall bladder and I understand that tests need to be performed by actual Dr's. After several test I was told yes I had gall stones but they didn't think that was my problem!!! I was sent home at 2am having the worse pain of my life. I went to my family physician as soon as they opened Thursday morning. I had a hida scan on Friday which indicated no gall bladder activity at all. On Saturday I went back to the ER on the recommendation of my physician. I was admitted and pain meds were administered immediately. At midnight I was sent over for an MRI, I feel I should mention that I hadn't eaten anything since Tuesday it even hurt to drink water. Sure enough gall stones!! REALLY!!! Sunday was Easter so no surgery until Monday afternoon. I was pumped so full of drugs I was beginning to wonder if I would ever feel normal again. My surgeon was amazing and the nurses that took care of me in ER observation were as well. The actual ER was awful I had someone insert an IV in my hand that caused me pain for months after because of how the extremely rude nurse jammed it in.
I've been told several times that I'm a great patient I treat the nurses and the aids with respect and kindness, but I didn't received that in the ER. Hopefully I never have to go there again.
