We booked this tour with Paddywagon as an excursion from our recent British Isles Cruise during our port time in Cobh/Cork. We had a great day despite the rain. After a drive through the City of Cork, Jerry got us to Blarney Castle as quick as possible and had our tickets ready so we could skip the queue. We had 90 minutes at this stop. He suggested we head directly to the Castle if we wanted to "kiss the Blarney Stone" and we did. Due to the large tours who beat us there, the time to climb the stairs was about an hour but the views were so worth it! We decided not to share germs with the world or lay down on the very wet ledge ( it was raining pretty good by then) but we did get to see some great views while on top of the castle and the castle itself is worth the climb. From Blarney we headed to Kinsale and the sun gods took over and stopped the rain. We had about 2 hours at this stop which was plenty of time to stroll around and grab a bite to eat. We chose to eat at a cute little roadside place called the Cosy Cafe - excellent food and pastries! Back on the road again, and and some beautiful views of the countryside. It was a great (but long) day at the travel time from the Port of Cobh was about 90 minutes (which we knew ahead of time). Paddywagon staff was present and easy to find when we got off the ship once outside the gates and were friendly and helpful all along the way. Bus was comfortable and clean. Great day trip from the cruise port at more than half the cost of a ships tour!
