Brought my 2016 Ford Explorer in for a malfunction...

Brought my 2016 Ford Explorer in for a malfunctioning cruise control. Service writer advised the plastic bracket holding the module was broken and needed to be replaced. Adviser said the bracket is not covered by the extended warranty because there was a scuff mark on the front chin spoiler. The chin spoiler is at least 7 inches away from the module and is at the bottom of the bumper. The bumper cover near the module has no damage at all. The service advisor also claimed the vehicle had paint overspray and must have been in an accident. I bought this car new. No accident but the hood was replaced by Ford due to corrosion. This part is $1400 and should be covered by Ford warranty
