A bucket list event was to go to an Opera. Unfortunately this was after another bucket list event, a Broadway musical. Two very different energies. On one hand the Metropolitan Opera offered a grown up experience. A well dressed crowd fully educated atmosphere. It seemed like we were in a award show love, with all the fancy attire and high priced drinks. The stage and theater looked amazing. As we sat night n the middle of the orchestra section, w could see everything very well. The perfermamce was wonderful. I had an idea in theory what it would be like. Everything being sung in italian was interesting. So also glad for the written translation in front of our seats. But it just seemed a little to upper crust for us. With the crowd saying bravo and the low key claps, were maybe something I will appreciate more when I'm older. Iolanta was a great story, I just don't think I will be back soon. And if I do, it will be at a much lower price. If just a starter, maybe try the upper level seats,at a lower cost.
