William Casolare Review of Hilton Riverside/Hyatt Regency...
This is a classic, old school hotel.
This is a classic, old school hotel.
There are around 26 floors of guest rooms. There are two banks of elevators to get to them.
The elevators were actually the root of my problem with my stay. I was in room 26 on my floor which was constantly obnoxiously loud with the vibration and other sounds from the high speed elevators. This was pure insanity to deal with. Either the elevators are out of service and need to be addressed or the develops simply didn't care about a chunk of the heat rooms. Worse so this is an upgraded river view deluxe room that cost extra to stay in...
To get all the negatives out of the way, the bathrooms feel very old and dingy. I'm used to Marriott properties with high end walk in showers and ceiling mounted Grohe rain fixtures with a wand. This hotel had an old school bath tub with a Lehman shower head mounted at the same height as my shoulders. Pathetic.
My room was clean and well prepared, but the carpet by the door was wet and had a "dirty laundry" smell to it.
The good? The bed was comfortable. The AC worked. The staff was polite. Room had an ironing board setup. Plenty of room to spread out.
I was here for a convention. The facilities are surprising large for a hotel. With the convention center located right next door, we didn't need it. We didn't lack for space here at all with around 1000 participants.
The Dragos restaurant and the bar in the center of the lobby were great as well.
