Jessica Nelson Review of Staybridge Suites Times Square...

I'll start off with the positives first. This hotel has, and it's hard for me to even say, the BEST coffee I've ever had in a hotel room. I'm not sure what brand or who the roaster is, but it is fantastic. I recommend brewing it on the bolder side personally. Secondly, the space is updated and comfortable, the suite was well stocked and the bed was quite comfortable. I was here for work, not pleasure, so, unfortunately, I don't have much to say about the location as I didn't get the opportunity to enjoy it much but if you're a tourist, it is in a great location. The gym here is also decently stocked with a cable machine, dumbells, variety of cardio and yoga mats. The space is small but it was never crowded. Lastly, they serve breakfast in two locations which definitely helps with overcrowding, even if the breakfast isn't anything to get overly excited about.
Now onto the negatives. The elevators are a little slow in the morning and get crowded fast. Not sure this is even something the hotel could possibly manage, its just a statement. The service is ok. When I checked in, the front desk clerk was lovely but the kindness really stopped there. As I previously mentioned, the elevators are slow and can get crowded, it doesn't help when the hotel staff and their cleaning supplies want to push everyone into the corner to make room for themselves. I understand they have a job to do but it still was quite irritating. The staff at breakfast were the worst. While having two locations does help with the overcrowding, the tables still filled up quickly. I finished up my breakfast and a lovely couple asked if they could have my table. So instead of leaving my dishes on the table, I stacked them and wiped the table and walked over to a staff member to ask them where they would like me to place them. She looked at me and said, "you should have left them on the table" and then shrugged her shoulders and turned away. I told her how another couple wanted me table and I didn't want to be rude and leave them and asked her again, where i could place them. She rudely said, "I don't care, it's your problem". So I turned around and placed them in the first open spot i saw in the lobby and walked to the elevators. I guess it's not my problem either.
All in all, the hotel is a good hotel. Outside of the general hotel staff, I have had a good experience and do enjoy the ammenities and proximity to good food.
