John Collins Review of Metropolitan Opera

A night at the opera can be as elegant as you like. Seats are available at a wide variety of prices. The seating is quite comfortable and has a personal text screen with translations in a few languages (English, German and the language of the opera, as I recall). There is no dress code, but it is a great opportunity to break out stylish fashion. The Grand Tier restaurant is very good, and having a desert waiting for you at intermission is a special experience. There are at least two bars, and drinks can be pre-ordered for intermission to reduce time waiting in line. The opera house is beautiful and has great acoustics. The presentations are world-class with impressive sets, costumes, orchestra, and performers.
