We decided to go here to celebrate a promotion and it was a special moment. However the first thing which came to mind after entering this place was "Westin is much better". Sure the interiors are neat and tidy but they somehow feel dated and are definitely not plush - something which I expected since this is Taj. We entered Culina 44 and were seated promptly since we had reservations. Once we clarified we were here for a-la carte, we were handed over the menus. First impressions were that the food options are severely limited. This is a Taj coffee shop and the limited menu did not instill confidence. However we were then served with a complimentary cake which was nice and the gentleman there was pleasant to click photos while we cut the cake. However things kinda went downhill from here. After 20 minutes we placed our orders and while we were waiting, the breads were served. However, no one bothered to change our plates which were smeared with cake. We had to ask twice before they were cleared. We then had to ask again to get clean plates. Really??? We then ordered food - lamb chops, lasagna, salmon. The food was strictly average. Again when the food arrived, we had to remind the wait staff to remove the soiled plates. The server had just placed the food without removing the soiled plates. The food itself was very ordinary. The flavors were just average. I've had better food at Chilis. The portion sizes were sufficient though. Overall this is a place I probably will not go again. I'm disappointed that this is a Taj restaurant.
