I wish there was another children's hospital in the area, so we could have a choice. PCMC is beautifully decorated, most people are friendly, caring and loving.

Over the years our children have to be seen repeatedly in 2 departments: cardiology and urology. We have been happy with the cardiology dept. They are caring, knowledgeable, and treat families with respect. Urology we have not been happy with and we are currently looking for a local pediatric urologist. One of our children had surgery and there were some painful complications afterwards that the surgeon from urology put off dealing with for 8 days. For 6 days he cancelled the 2nd surgery that she needed to relieve her kidneys. It got to the point that the after care nurses were suggesting we complain to the hospital. I regret that we didn't, we just kept trying to deal with the surgeon. It didn't help that he was very difficult to get in touch with. At some of our appointments we have felt that urology doesn't seem to focus on the problem or take the time to understand what the problem is. It has been quite frustrating. If it wasn't for urology, we would give a 4 star rating.

We have had a couple of small problems with billing... losing our insurance info, and even our address on random bills. Almost all of the bills have made it to us (and we always pay them), but when they don't, the bill goes to collections and then they put a levy against us (all without our knowledge) and then the state charges us for the bill (which, of course we're willing to pay) plus a fee because they lost our address again. The most frustrating part of that is they don't seem to be apologetic. It would be nice if they just admitted they lost our info again.

All in all, we recommend the hospital, but not the urology dept.
