The Beutler Tech took advantage of my almost 80 year-old Senior Citizen mother, made up a false repair, and extorted money from her. The Beutler Tech continuously tried to upsell and pressure my mother to buy a new AC unit. After she indicated she just wanted the old unit fixed he indicated the unit needed the coils fixed and charged her an $89 service fee and $419 for a leak search. He then informed her that she would have to pay an additional $3000 to come back out to have the coils repaired. I told her to get a second estimate, so another technician came out the next day for a free estimate. The other technician indicated there was NOTHING wrong with the unit. The trouble was isolated to PG&E s "Smart AC" unit. The Smart AC" had a piece of failed hardware that prevented the AC from coming on. Once the Smart AC" unit was removed the AC immediately started working. The technician also provided documentation corroborating his claim that there was no malfunction to the AC unit. My mother wrote a complaint letter asking for a refund of the service fee & leak search. She later spoke with a manager Terry at Beutler who dismissed my mother s claims/complaints and denied her request for a refund. This is unacceptable! My mother lives in a Senior Community called Rio Vista, and the only reason she called Beutler was because they installed many of the units in this community. I will be advising the Rio Vista community of Beautler s unethical practices as well as the BBB, so no other senior citizens are taken advantage of. I have contacted Beutler on my mother s behalf, and have been promised a call back from a manager Ray. I am still pending that call. I am willing to give Beutler one more opportunity to rectify this matter, as this fight is not over.
