What is the point of making a service appointment ...

What is the point of making a service appointment since it is still going to be several hours before they can even do the diagnostic, after I made the appointment 3 weeks in advance? (Also, when we were looking to purchase about 6 months ago, the sales person wouldn't let us move it carseats over, and insisted we just have our 2&4 year-old children just sit in a normal seatbelt for the parking lot test drive.) I would discourage anyone from coming here for anything.
