Hayes Murray Review of Homewood Suites

I did NOT stay at this hotel, which is a shame as it looks awfully nice- but the booking procedure was akin to calling the IRS and trying to be walked over the phone though filing taxes for the entirety of a corporation. After sitting through a lengthy phone menu that wanted to ask every question they could ( and then top it off by asking me if I wanted to do a survey after the experience) they put me on hold. Finally, the operator comes on, tells me the price I saw online can be matched but only if I can find the "right site online". We then spend five minutes with me trying to figure out what I need to give him to establish bona fides, whereupon he tells me he will have to "get someone to confirm he can give me that price" and bounces me to Dallas, TX to talk to Complaint Elevation Dept at Hilton- who has utterly no clue what the previous operator was doing---and, to be clear:
All I wanted was room for two nights.
That's it, the massive totality of my request and, oddly enough, you'd think when you call a hotel that they could simply TELL you- yes we have a room, or no, we do not. If I was Hilton corporate and knew what customers were encountering here I would hit the roof- how in the name of heaven are you expecting to compete at this level when you can't even successfully book a room without making it a trial by fire? Like I said, it bites, because I thought the place looked great, but finally gave up when Dallas started explaining to me about a form I could fill out online- just wow
