I booked my stay in Mayan Palace via RCI as an exchange for my week in Masanutten. The travel guide highly recommended this place. RCI travel guide failed to give me more information and details. There is a resort fee of $11 per person plus the exchange fee with RCI, plus all other payments like laundry, tax per day, internet, etc..

If you are booking with RCI please make sure you get your confirmation so you will not be surprise with your bill. Make sure you ask RCI about the charges you will face in Mayan Palace.

We came at 3:00 PM , Sunday, June 18. Check in is at 5:00 PM. The queue is long, so be aware of the long line and be ready to wait. People I would say are all respectful and courteous.

The room is big and comfortable for the 4 of us. The room has the weird smell like of mold or trash. I called and asked for an air spray the lady who came explained to me in Spanish the reason for the smell which I barely understood. She sprayed all the corners of the room, that's it.

My husband was given a blanket which has some brown stain. He called to change it. It was changed and replaced quickly.

The room service and the food presentation were excellent except for the last order we had. The chicken was overly fried like it was done quickly and in a hurry.

The pool is huge, some days it is crowded.

My husband developed chest pain suddenly. We went to the clinic and he was charged $180 for the 2 injections, consultation and Omeprazole tab due to expire on September 2017 so don't get sick or else be ready for the expenses.

The price of food is the same as outside. 10% off applies on food and discounts on outside activities if you attend the time share meeting for 5 hours.

Be ready to leave tips for everybody.

Overall experience is good. People are all nice and respectful.

Suggestions:
The rooms should all be air sprayed before the guests come to remove the smell.
All blankets, and linens, should be cleaned and washed before it is given to the guests. My daughter developed skin rashes after sitting in the sofa bed with the linens. Like some dust mites are present.
