CHECK YOUR BILL. We took our minivan in for isolated service on the sliding door that had been hit while open. The LHM Service center looked it over and tried to get my wife to give authority over the phone for a $2,000 repair bill. She rightly refused and asked to have the estimate emailed to her. I took the estimate and called different mechanics (including other Toyota dealerships) and found that LHM was charging DOUBLE what other dealerships charge for the same service. They had also included a handful of system flushes (at $130 a piece) based solely on the mileage of the car without even looking at the actual fluids or checking with us whether that service had been performed by another dealer. To make matters worse, they included another $130 charge which (after being pressed by me) they admitted was a double charge for something that was listed five lines lower (and described differently). When I tried to get my car back, they reminded me I was subject to a $110 diagnosis fee if I didn't let them do some of the excessive work they suggested. It ended up costing me $420 and a lot of time to get something fixed, and now I have to take the car to a different mechanic that will actually get his hands dirty before trying to get approval for $2,000 in service. We have had good experiences with LHM in the past, but they've gotten greedy with their service center.
