I went to look at a specific vehicle after reviewing the information on the website and the few photos that were posted. When I arrived the vehicle had hail damage and some large paint chips on the side that were not shown in the photos and not mentioned in the listing. I decided I was not interested yet agreed to listen to whatever price they would offer. I would classify the manager and the sales associate as aggressive with painfully obvious sales tactics. 4 weeks later the same vehicle is on their website with the price removed and all photos removed. Questionable business practices... Found a similar car from a dealer across the street that was represented accurately.

I want to thank both of the them and express sincere expression of thanks. My purchase was made possible because of Bryn knowledge and high level of professionalism and service he provided me; your integrity; and the high reputation of your dealership made the deal effortless!

I believe that every business is built one customer at a time. Customer loyalty and trust are both earned through deeds not good salesmanship alone. Whereas you are indeed a good salesman Bryn, this review serves to confirm that you have earned my trust and my loyalty. We bought a car in February and it was totaled a couple of months later. We paid for the extended warranty but no one is willing to help us stop the warranty and get the money from the warranty on a car that is no longer driveable. We were told is should be an easy process but apparently it is not. It's hard to believe a dealership would care so little about customer service. I do not recommend purchasing from them.

The sales staff was helpful, but the services department has habitually been rude. I've tried scheduling and appointment over the phone when the vehicle was under manufacturer warranty, Service refused to make an appointment without being in the dealership, taking me away from work. When my wife took the vehicle in the day of the appointment the dealership was closed due to a gas spill in the area, but I wasn't notified. When I rescheduled the appointment my wife went to take it in again, and never verified the appointment and left my wife to make another appointment.

When she showed up it was finally taken care of. Until I had to get a VIN verification on a Saturday which takes all of five minutes to complete, again tells me they cannot help.

Update: I had a situation come up where the service department was able to help me right away, without a proper appointment, and charged me nothing for the service. Looks like everyone has good and bad days!

They lie about everything. Said that a full inspection was done and the only thing it needed was rear brakes. Took it to my shop and $1300 later the car is finally safe to drive. Passenger air bag is still messed up, which legally they can't sell it with airbag problem. They lied about the date of when the car came in as a trade. They said it JUST came in, come to find out it had been on their website for over a week. They lied about the price, said it was wrong price on their website, and manager said it happens all the time! Bunch of liars from salesman to sales manager. Please don't buy from them . They are thieves and liars. Took my car in as a trade and turned around 2 days later it on their website for $4,250 more than they gave me. And don't trust the sales manager Ivan every word out of his mouth is a lie. Please take your business elsewhere.

Just purchased a 2017 Mazda 3 and the experience was top notch from start to finish! Our sales rep, Corinna, was a delight to work with. Not only did she really listen to our requests, but she went above and beyond in accommodating our wishes. All the staff was genuinely friendly and really seemed pleased to have our business. They made the purchase of our car an exciting celebration. Highly recommend Bob Penkhus Mazda.

Just bought a used car from this dealer. Overall, it was very satisfying. Our salesman, Jordan, was very knowledgeable about the car, helpful, and good at answering questions. The only issue we had was price, but I had an unreasonable price point. Fortunately, my wife is our CFO. Jordan did a good job of getting us the best deal possible. Even the closer was not pushy or demanding. They just ran the numbers until everyone was satisfied. I recommend this dealer and sales force.

I feel compelled to share my very positive experience with the service department at Bob Penkus VW. After less than optimal experiences and expensive repairs which did not fix an issue with my Tiguan at another local VW dealer and an independent repair shop, I called Brian in the service department and explained the problem and previous frustrations. He was very professional and knowledgeable, and through an exceptional level of persistence, fixed the issue as promised. You have earned another satisfied customer who highly recommends your services. Thanks again!

I have never walked into a dealership that was so ...

I have never walked into a dealership that was so unhelpful and greedy. The car i purchased from them was a used 2005 Mazda 3, while test driving the car it seemed absolutely fine with no problems, the salesmen was a decent guy but a bit uneducated on cars in general which annoyed me. The biggest slap in the face was when test driving the car it was nearly empty, I told my salesman who then took me to a gas station to put $5 in the tank for the test drive. We hassled for about 2 hours on a price and finally agreed on one, i asked if they were going to fill up the tank with gas for me to get home since i was trading in my vehicle that had about 3/4 of a tank of gas, they said no and that i already squeezed $5 out of them.... then i asked them to at least fill it equal to what was in the car i traded in and again they denied it. Two days later the car through engine codes and a bunch of problems i called the customer service line where no one was available and left a message. The next day i received a call back from Mike I believe, and i expressed my concerns with him and i also mentioned the several engine codes that had popped up. He said that i was S.O.L. pretty much and i bought the care as it was and seemed to have no concern what so ever. Then we battled on the fact that the car was not emission tested when i bought it and i live in a restricted emissions area . He barley offered to pay for a test and said if the car didn't pass emissions he wasn't going to do anything to fix it, even though law states a dealership is reasonable for a car passing emissions before its sold. So horrible customer service, no care after they get your money, just save yourself some time and go somewhere else these guys SUCK!

Matthew Arnold first help my husband, and I when we came in to look for cars for myself and my daughter. Absolutely wonderful to work with. We did not purchase a car the first day, but came back the next evening, Matthew was with another customer, but still helped us in between and set us up with Zac who helped us the second day. Agsin, absolutely wonderful to work with him too. They both listened to what we wanted. I got a used car with super low mileage and all the extras I wanted. Thank you!!!!

These guys are absolute crooks!!! I'm absolutely disgusted the way you treat women as if they're morons. How can you tell someone they need to have their credit ran before you can tell them the price of a vehicle?? I have been in sales my whole life and never have I seen a more disorganized and disrespectful bunch of chumps! Used car salesman at their finest down here folks! When a car is listed at 18,500 and is only worth 15,000 at the very best and you try and pull a fast one to make a quick buck is sickening... Nobody buys just one my... Haha I bought my second vehicle through you guys and figured it was a good idea to give you a shot, well guess what this fella will only buy one!

These people are friendly, helpful and thorough. Their prices are comparable to other such business, but not exorbant. They are VERY busy. They comminicate pretty well and will text you reminders. They do have an awesome waiting room with coffee, tea and several edibles. If you ask they will shuttle you home. After Aspen....... nice to see a professional place that doesn't see dollar signs on your face when you walk in. I do reccomend this business with my autos and maybe yours. I trust them and with so many shops, one like this, is not easy to come by.

I called Bob Penkhus and told them my problem, they offered me a loaner car and I was thrilled. Krista was very nice and helpful. She told me that my extended warranty would not cover if rodent's had chewed on wires and of course that was the problem. They said they could fix my car for $385 and could have it done the next day. I was going on vacation and told them I would take it to my brother and have him fix it. I ended up taking it to Volkswagen of Topeka, Kansas who told me that since my deductible was $200 they weren't going to use it because the fix was under $200. When I picked it up the mechanic was there and I asked him if there was rodent damage. He said a little on one wire but he spliced it and didn't charge me for that. I don't understand that when word of mouth is so important to a business that you would try to cheat someone. I am very disappointed in Bob Penkhus and now will have to find someone else to work on my car if need be. Shame on you for trying to rip me off. What a disappointment!!! I don't want to give one star but it won't let me post it if I don't give at least one.

Worst dealership I've ever been to and will never go back. After being misdirected multiple times, service center told me to go home and schedule online! In two visits I spent 45min looking for a new car and got no help, and not at peak times either. Everything they sell and service is way overpriced. Wish I could give no stars. Would recommend avoiding is possible.

He helped us search the country for the exact car. He never pressured us to buy a car I didn't want. I felt stress free through the whole experience. Overall great place to buy a car! I went here to just shop around and tag-a-long with a friend who was purchasing a car, and wound up finding the perfect vehicle. This place wouldn't have been half the experience it was if Ben hadn't helped us. He was a great salesman who wanted to give you exactly what you wanted. He didn't pressure you to jump into a vehicle, he asked you what you wanted in a car and took you to exactly what you described. He was patient and understood if you wanted to shop around a little on your own. To sum it all up; the experience was amazing, the staff (Ben) was caring, and the cars are great and well priced. I highly recommend you go here if you want quality service and a great car buying experience.

The original car buying experience was not bad at ...

The original car buying experience was not bad at all, but I didn't have the down payment the day I looked at the car. The salesman told me that we could wait until the following Monday to give the down payment because my previous car was totaled out and I was waiting on a check from the insurance company. I didn't end up receiving by the Monday and Bob Penkus cleared my bank account. I called and explained the situation and they told me that they would wait until Friday when i could guarantee the rest of the money. I had to borrow money because they took all of my money and then they ran my card the following day on Tuesday, which is not what we discussed at all. This put me in a very bad position and when I called to get information or help they treated me like I was the bad guy and the manager kept saying "I don't see how we are the bad guy we didn't have to extend it for you." I understand that they didn't have to extend it but the fact that they said they would wait to run the card again and didn't is not honoree. The manager was very nonchalant and had no sympathy to the situation. It's ironic their motto is "Where nobody buys just one" because with that customer service I am only buying just one, they lost my business and I recommend you avoid this dealership as well and not even buy just one. There is plenty of other great options in Motor City. The manager replied saying they would call and I never received a call.

I had the unfortunate experience of having my car breakdown and my insurance company required it to be towed to the closet dealership, in this case Bob Penkhus. They have a known reputation for poor service and overcharging, but my car was there and I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. Needless to say they lived up to their poor reputation in more ways than one:
1) Told me I needed a new battery, then when questioned said it was fine
2) Attempted to charge me $491.00 for an alternator that only costs $220.00
3) Attempted to charge me $58.00 for a belt that costs $22.00
4) Held my car for three days telling me the part was coming from Texas, but oh wait it was sent to Wisconsin, sorry. Oh wait again, I can get it from Denver by tomorrow
5) Attempted to charge me double the hours All Data suggests for an alternator repair on my vehicle

I ended up towing my car to a reputable independent mechanic, and only then did a supervisor attempt to hush me with taking 10% off the repair if I would leave it there. After all this I will NEVER take my car to Bob Penkhus motors again and suggest you don't either, go with a local mechanic you trust or better yet, if you have to go with a dealer, go to Al Serra.

Jordan McManus was a fantastic salesperson to work with. We originally went in ready to purchase a vehicle this summer. He explained all of the options Volvo offers in the different XC90 models, and when we realized that there wasn't a vehicle in stock that was the exact specifications we wanted, he ordered us a 2019 with the options we wanted. We finalized the price of the new 2019 model as well as our trade in over the summer. Jordan kept us posted on when our new vehicle would be arriving, and he taught us how to use the sophisticated features of the car. All of those prices agreed upon over the summer were honored when we came back at the end of October to pick up and pay for our vehicle. It's nice to know he's happy to answer any questions that come up regarding using the vehicle even after we've purchased it. We are very satisfied customers.

This dealership is nothing short of a joke. I drove 2 hours to look at and test drive a vehicle I found online. They told me to go head and go home and they would let me know in the morning what the outcome was. I waited all day heard nothing I called and talked to my salesman which never gave me his business card. He told me to go head and see if I can get approved by my own bank. So I call my bank get approved let the salesman know I m approved have the check for the car and he tells me that car is being sold right now???? How can you sell a car right out from under someone that has a check ready to purchase. Talked with 2 managers and basically said sorry but not sorry. Don t recommend this classless dealership to my worst enemy

Corinna's professionalism, pleasant personality, and knowledge of the vehicles helped me to confidently (without pressure) choose the Mazda CX-5. Every step of the process went smoothly. Not happy with them at all !
We purchased a brand new car there,and the transmission started acting up,and the volkswagon repair tech named Dan,said we put wrong fluid into tranmission,and declined to honor our warrenty,
The transmission had never been touched or topped off,They just screwing us over bad,that transmission should not go out at 5100 miles
Dont buy your car here,if you dont do your services there you will be treated like a paraiah,and when your car fails they won,t honor the 100,000 mile warrenty to replace a faulty part.
The tranmission is sealed it cannot be toppes off.and there was no reason to have topped it off.they just robbed us for this car that we have to make payments on thats obviously defective.
We need a good consumer lawyer to take our case against them.
Any lawyers out there ?

I blew a fuse in my cigarette lighter with my GPS on my S80 Volvo while out of town. I called my local dealer Rickenbaugh in Denver and was told by the service manager Dwight that the fuse location was in the manual. Long story short I called Dwight a second time without any success. It was not in the manual and I was unable to fix the fuse. I attempted to pull out fuses see if any were blown. As it turned out the blown fuse was in another area under the dash board and you needed a star screwdriver to remove the panel. I was able to stop in Bob Penkhus Volvo in Colorado Springs and spoke with the service manager Andy Morrison and Master Tech Jimmy. Within 15 minutes they had replaced my fuse vacuumed and washed my vehicle. Outstanding service and I highly recommend this dealership for its personnel and customer service.

I have now leased my 3rd Jetta from Bob Penkhus and my last two were with salesman Ben Gallentine. The Jetta is a great car and Bob Penkhus offers such great service from the time you walk in the door. Ben is very knowledgeable and takes the time to make sure you know everything upfront. With my past Jettas, I have also always had great service when getting any maintenance done on the car. We have sent friends to this dealer and they have bought from them too. A great dealership all around.

The inconsistent online experience I've had over the years with their car service booking portal prevents this from being a five star rating. Three of my appointments in the last three years have evaporated into the digital ether, causing a mild scramble with their team when I arrive for my scheduled appointment. The last time this occurred, I was asked to call the service desk and book over the phone. That seems like a waste of money for the business owner to be spending dollars for the convenience of booking online, only to have it failing regularly.

I bought a mazda from another bob penkhus location and not only overpaid, but they sold me a warranty that didn't really cover anything. 1.5 years later, I am trading this vehicle in a a huge loss. This location had the car we wanted, so decided to try them again. I came in with an auto loan all ready an in no need of financing from them. They wanted to run my credit and I declined. They lied and ran it anyway lowering my credit score. Now waiting for the alignment promised when I purchased the vehicle. I made an appointment and was on time. Now, 2.5 hours later and not only still waiting for my vehicle, but no one can even tell me when it is going to be ready. Definitely finding a new car dealership for the next one...

Best car buying experience I ve ever had! I brought my 2014 Passat in for routine oil change. After getting some great complimentary snacks and drink I decided to walk around the show room floor. A salesman by the name of Jordan McManus caught me looking at the new 2018 VW Tiguan and asked if I needed help. I told him I wish, I ll probably wait another year or so before I think about upgrading . He said let s just see what we can do . To make a long story short after a test drive and a few looks at different models and colors I was sold a beautiful brand new 2017 VW Tiguan! Everything about the process was seamless and at no time did a feel pressured by Jordan. He did everything he could to get me the best price and the best terms. If you are in the market for a new car check out Jordan or anyone at Bob Penkus. You won t be sorry.

THE BEST car buying experience! I have purchased two vehicles from Bob Penkhus, both from Scott Hughes who is always knowledgeable and professional, he always makes sure I am taken care of. Their finance department is always does a great job of getting you the best rate, Tadd Wells has been wonderful both times I have purchased a vehicle. Bob Penkhus has a wonderful sales team and are all about customer service and selling great cars! I will be returning to Bob Penkhus for all my vehicle buying and service needs.

He got us test drive vehicle with the broken side mirror and there was a ladies shoe laying around inside the car. Wheb qe asked about it, he said it's owners daughter's shoe and he didn't care to leave it at the dealership before the test drive. We immediately strike off Mazda from our list.

Not sure where to start but its been a very HORRIB...

Not sure where to start but its been a very HORRIBLE experience EVER. Salesperson are great with making sure they get that sale but once that deal is done and sign, you're SCREWED. How you get screwed?
1) Finance dept takes a long time with paperwork to be submitted to the bank and also processing and submitting payoff check for a trade-in. It took about 3-3.5 week for my loan and payoff to get through to the bank. Which this process is not informed to the buyer that the process can take more than 3 weeks to get everything submitted and for bank to receive and process.
2) Returning phone calls. EXTREMELY SAD because they don't return calls PERIOD. Customer has to be the responsible person to make continuous calls to get intouch with someone that helped with sale. So from salesperson, sales manager, and finance who helped complete sale and messages left for a return call but nobody seen to have time for it. That just tells me that CLOSING THE DEAL IS ALL THAT MATTERS. 1car out of the lot before the month ends.
3) Anything on the WILL that they promise to repair or replace. GOOD LUCK because you the customer is responsible to call and remind them about it. And that will take multiple calls and appts schedule at service dept because its either the part received is wrong or just communication from salesperson to service dept is not clear of what is covered under the warranty offer or the WILL.
4) NO LOANER offer if your car is been service. WHY? I was told because during the hail that hit Colorado the dealership loan out a lot of cars and unfortunately people were not returning cars back in good condition. Well insurance should cover whatever damage there was. Not screw everyone else. But not my biggest concern. Do what you have to do to save your business.

*** Because I purchase a Chevy not a Volvo, Mazda, or Volkswagen, I get pushed down to the Mitsubishi service for my truck. And this 2 places does not seem to communicate well. The Mitsubishi service dept helped me the best they can and I appreciate them. But the lack of communication and giving the proper information they need to complete car service for customer like myself would be helpful and great info for them. This would be my 2nd visit to Mitsubishi service since I purchase the Chevy and both times I get here I have to call up to the Volvo side and salesperson to clarify warranty and WILL.
As a customer I am very disappointed with the service received at Bob Penkhus Volvo at Motor City with their poor communication from managers to sales. My suggestion is please give your new buyers a follow up call about their purchase and offer any assistance needed with the new vehicle. That's how to get a happy satisfy customer.

I have purchased many cars in my lifetime and my experience with Bob Penkhus has been the most unpleasant and unprofessional experience of them all. I agree that if you give them money, don't expect anything back if they are at fault. They neglected to obtain financing in a reasonable time frame then kept my down payment after I was told I had to bring the car back. I have filed a small claim in an effort to get my money back. My advice to anyone buying a car, here or elsewhere, read the contract and if there is something you are uncomfortable with, don't sign it. Don't feel vulnerable. A dealership can only get you a car if they can get you approved and none of them have any special powers.

The sales team I dealt with was knowledgeable and my experience on purchasing my car was great. What has been frustrating and untimely has been the follow through after sale. I had to make numerous calls to their team to ensure that my loan paperwork was submitted (it was not done properly and caused delays). Additionally I had to make calls to follow up on them submitting or not submitting paperwork to obtain my license plates (my temp plates have expired leading me to believe it was their fault). I haven t received a call back.

Update: no manager or anyone has contacted me in close to two days. Your automated response seems to be just an effort to seem responsive. I ve paid you for license fees and have had to drive illegally thanks to your negligence.

I just recently brought my car in to get a regular service and once again experienced amazing professionalism and the best customer service. I have always had the best experience from the time I purchased my very first car with them 6 years ago, to my recent purchase last year. The entire staff is very helpful, knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating. Upon arriving, the service staff is quick to greet you, take notes on what your car is needing and get you to where you're going. My oil change services always take a few hours, and I think its wonderful that the dealership offers shuttle rides back to work so you can get on with your busy day. Talk about amazing customer service, I was a little too late to catch the shuttle before it left, but I needed to get back to work right away. The service staff and the store manager made arrangement's to have someone personally drop me off. Thank you again everyone there for another A+ experience!

I recently purchased a new 2017 Tiguan Limited with the help of Becca Mitchell and it was such a fun and easy experience. She really listened to what I was wanting in a car and found a car based on my needs. Not once did I feel that she was just trying for the highest dollar sale. When it came time to actually purchase Becca and her colleagues were willing to work with my schedule and stayed late to get everything finalized. Typical sleazeball used car sales. High prices, false claims, fraudulent valuation, lies, etc. These guys will say and do just about anything to defend their insane pricing on used cars. I wonder how long before the sales manager spends a night in jail for producing falsified information/data/valuations from known 3rd parties. Watch out.

I can't imagine a better buying experience. I admit that I was very nervous when I set out to purchase a new car as all the stories of how trying it can be were holding me back. However, I got lucky when I found Bob Penkhus and especially Corinna Couchman. She was tremendous and patient during my shopping experience and was very knowledgeable and helpful. I hope I do not need another car again for a long time, but if I do, I'm sure this is where It'll be from. In the meantime, I'll recommend Bob Penkhus to any one and everyone I know inneed of a vehicle.

These guys did right by me! My sales associate Scott put me in touch with Ivan the sales manager and he was able to resolve all my issues. I purchased a used vehicle and Ivan replaced the rear window motor and torque converter without any issues. It took a while to get the vehicle back after only putting minimal mileage on it from when I bought it, but they provided me a loaner car in the interim. I would recommend this dealership and I will be back! Thank You to Ivan for taking care of me!
