I am a long-time customer of Avella, and regrettably , I am forced to give this 1-star review for the Scottsdale location. The compounded prescriptions are high-quality but completely inaccessible thanks to systemic ineptitude in their follow-up service on refills.
On 3 separate occasions (refills 6-months apart), Avella~Scottsdale's order system & service staff have failed to responsibly follow-up on their side of fax'd requests to doctors and/or adequate compounding staffing. This led to prescriptions being held up for nearly a month, requiring a client to suffer through weeks of reduced or no proper levels of prescribed medications.
My most recent disappointment has forced me to go for 3 weeks without my prescribed medication - due to their inability to discern that they had the completely wrong fax number for my physician's office.
Despite repeated pleas for them to follow up in order to locate the reason for the pharmacy-to-physician disconnect (as my compounded medicine was running out, I had learned to start this ordering process early, thanks to their previous non-fulfillment occasions), Avella's staff consistently handed off blame, without resolving the situation.
When they finally admitted their system was at fault, they still put my already 2-week delayed compounding prescription behind others - and forced me to wait a full week more to "get around to it" thanks for short-staffing in their scheduled on-site compounding pharmacists.
Even their non-retail Deer Valley lab was unable to assist. And since they are closed on weekends and holidays, waiting clients have no choice but to suffer in silence for them to process their prescriptive duties.
My strong advice: seek another compounding pharmacy at all costs. You are guaranteed only physical discomfort and repeated disappointment if you come here as a client.
